This is project is totally
different that all the projects that we have done in this class. I think that
this project is cumulative. In other words, we should use all the things that
we've learned and have seen in this class. We were told by our professor that we
should take on the role of the curator, who is responsible for the selection of
which artists will be exhibited, which of their artworks will be shown, and
where will be installed.
The theme that I picked is
"Artworks that serve humans and have a message". Although it is kind
of hard to pick a theme, I have picked this theme because i think that artworks
should have a message and should serve our daily lives as humans. I think all
the artworks that I've chosen share something in common. All of them either are
made to serve humans directly or to make humans aware of some dangerous habits
around their lives.
One of the artworks that i really
liked was the one that talks about George Bush. In this artwork, the artist
shows the former president of the U.S as a pirate because of all the wars that
he invaded, and all the innocent people that he killed. Also, pirates attack
people to take their money. Which is the same as Bush because most Americans
believe that he invaded Iraq just to take their petroleum. This artwork relates
to my theme because it delivers a message about a person who killed a lot of
people.
There
are many artworks that are dedicated to serve human being, but I liked the Puma
bike because i like riding bikes and this bike is so convenient for people. It
also reminds me of the first bike that i had. it wasn't exactly like it, but at
least they have the same color. These artworks relates to my theme because it
makes people's life easier especially those who like to ride bikes.
I also think that the artwork that talks about
smoking relates to my theme because the artist makes the impacts of smoking so
obvious. In the artwork we see a female smoking and inside her body is green
like a forest. This means the smoking destroys the health of humans.
